If you're struggling with a tonsil stone infection then you've came to the right place! Here you'll find tips and advice for getting through what is a really frustrating and stressing infection.
For many people the idea of getting their tonsils removed may not be the most attractive option in the world. It is very painful and although it is today more or less an outpatient procedure, the pain and discomfort is still something that will be at the very least an inconvenience. Most adults need to take time off work just to deal with the after effects. For adults the procedure can be a lot more painful than it is for children - and also interrupt their personal and professional life. So considering all this inconvenience, it's a good thing that tonsil stones can be easily removed at home. This of course depends on how severe the infection is (if they are deep enough within the tonsil, a doctor may need to remove them) but for the most part, you need not leave the house to treat them. Here are few methods to try out at home when you notice the little buggers sitting at the back of your throat. Apple Cider Vinegar Gargle ACV has been shown to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties so it will help fight against the bacteria that develops the stones, making them less likely to return, and help reduce any swelling of the tonsils you will have likely been experiencing. If you're suffering from tonsil stones then I recommend you gargle ACV daily. Just add 1 tablespoon of ACV to 1 glass of water and begin swirling it around your mouth, making sure it reaches your tonsils. Do this with the entire glass (not all at once, take small sips) and rinse afterwards with clean water. Oral Probiotic You may have to get this over the counter but oral probiotics are great for incorporating good bacteria into your mouth if you don't want to use the method above. This good bacteria will fight against the bad which cause tonsil stones in the first place, therefore making them less likely to come back and grow bigger. I recommend you use a probiotic called S. Salivarius K12 as this the most effective at fighting off the bacteria. You would use similarly to ACV, mix the probiotic with a glass of water and begin gargling it, making sure it reaches your tonsils. Chamomile Tea If you're having a tough time in dealing with the symptoms caused by the stones, particularly swollen tonsils or trouble swallowing, then chamomile tea is a great solution. The hot water will sooth your swollen tonsils and chamomile has anti-inflammatory properties so it'll help reduce pain or discomfort. You should find it easily in your local supermarket which is one of the reasons why I recommend it. Most other methods are as convenient as the chamomile tea. Conclusion There are many other methods you can take advantage of, these are just some of my favorite and some of the most effective. Hopefully after using them your troubles with tonsil stones will lessen and you'll get some relief.

What I would say as a person with daily occurring stones in my tonsils. I press my finger in the back of the tonsil holes they form inside of and remove them with pressure and gargling. I use warm water diluted in powerful mouthwash to clear the remaining lodged stones in the hole and try to continue pressing them out. This gets tiring and requires a lot of gag reflex control and pressure in the back of the throat with the finger.
